Spoken word by Michelle Wyatt
Inspiring words have forged my reality. Nikki Giovanni captivated me with “Truth Is On It’s Way.” I’ve never met her, but we go way back, vinyl scratched records played on repeat because the words were smooth as butter, and the music was nectar sweet.
I discovered early that words are crucial to my survival. God said “light be”, and it was. The ever evolving existence of man hangs on the lips of the poet. We build, destroy and rebuild, not with our hands, but with our lips.
Remember this the next time you speak to a child. You alone have the capability to create their failure or their success. Build them up. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, not to mention the power of the pen. If you believe that your words can’t cut, think again.
We should manifest God’s kingdom on earth with the fruit of our lips. We will have what we say, life over death, love over hate, joy over sorrow and never ending peace and blessings, God knows we need it.
If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be? Would you change your past, would you keep the hurts, disappointments, and setbacks?
I would change my vocabulary, forming diamonds from the heat created by the pressures of life. Precious gems, hidden treasures spoken to transform the soul of man, revealing God’s greatest creation.
Watch your words, reconstruct your life, transfigure your soul, simply speak it.
