State of the Nation
The temperature in our nation is heated. Our nation has seen protests for days straight, yet culture wars have done very little to assist families to pay their bills, gain access to clean water, or to become gainfully employed in a fulfilling job. Many people feel frustrated right now. Most people are finding it increasingly difficult to take care of their families and be safe in a warm home. Many believe that protests will bring social change, yet our nation has become more tribal with very little meaningful change, why? This tribal cultlike activity is only creating more chaos. The reality is that no group of individuals is better than another, but we are led to believe that certain people deserve more protection than another.
In the meantime, the work culture still needs improvement, crime has gone up and so has inflation. I remember once existing in a world where we could listen to opposing views with a sense of dignity and grace. What happened? Are we allowing politics to make us slaves to cultural wars? Look around. Is the nation in a better position today than we were seven years ago?
Time for Change
Times change, but these facts remain true. People need to work and take care of their families. The right to live has been given by God himself and should never be mishandled. Our constitution states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Are we fulfilling the words of our own declaration? Popular polls say that the American people are concerned about the economy, crime, illegal immigration, and health care costs based on information from the Pew Research Center. https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2023/06/21/inflation-health-costs-partisan-cooperation-among-the-nations-top-problems/ The article mentions partisan cooperation as a sidenote hot button topic. Will both parties work together to do something on behalf of the American people? We do not want to be held hostage by cultural wars, mandates or political tropes, we want lasting change for the better.
